As Internet takes dominance in all forms of life, social media has grown immensely. It becomes fitting to have award shows to honor those who work in the social media marketing space.

The first international social media marketing awards for communications professionals called The Bees Awards would give due recognition and moments of glory to these individuals and organizations which have performed excellently in social media.

The awards would be given out in 23 categories of which 8 categories have been added from the previous edition in 2010. The ceremony would be held at the Legion of Honor in San Francisco on May 3, 2011 at 7PM, which will be live streamed as well.

The jury list includes some notable names like David Armano (SVP, Edelman Digital, USA); David Rosenberg (Director of Emerging Media, JWT New York, USA); Dean McBeth (Sr. Digital Strategist, Wieden+Kennedy Portland, USA); Gitanjali Sriram (Head, Naked Comm, India) amongst others.

Important Dates:

• January 24, 2011 – Social media, public relations, advertising agencies, brands and consultants can start submitting their work at BeesAwards
• March 31, 2011 – Last date for entry submission
• April 18, 2011 – Nominees will be announced
• May 3, 2011 – Award ceremony in San Francisco, USA
